Began in 1985 with the original Bicycle Shop started by "Fast Freddie" in Nürnberg Germany.

We started as a small family business and continue to operate as a community LBS (local bike shop).

With family members owning and operating different locations providing top quality bicycle services to the

local community for over 40 years.

OV Bicycle Shop is not a new Bicycle Shop. Owners Leon and Deborah James brought the expansion to Oceanview, Norfolk Virginia from existing shops located in Newport News, Hampton, Petersburg, and Summerville South Carolina.

Our master mechanic Leon James. Has learned his apprenticeship in the heart of a small cycling community in Bavaria Germany.

Unlike many of today's schools. His curriculum consisted of not just the mechanical aspect of bicycles. But the art of frame and wheel building. Although much has changed in the industry with mass production bicycles. He understands the value of a well built and designed bicycle.

His expertise also extends to racing. Due to his father Fast Freddie James. Overall insight of the  bicycles industry. He has raced In Europe and in the United States in various disciplines. Winning State and National championships.

With four decades of experience in the Bicycle industry. He stays up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies to ensure that we, as your LBS (local bike shop) are always providing the best possible service to our clients.
